Athol Wharf

History (Line Openings)

The Athol Wharf Branch opened off the Balmoral line from Avenue Road Junction to Taronga Zoo's Top Gate on the 9th of October, 1916. The line extended to Athol Wharf (now Taronga Zoo Wharf) on the 27th of October the year after. The branch closed on the 28th of June, 1958, as did most of the system.
